Adolescents on the West Side, like young people everywhere, need opportunities to gain leadership, social, academic, and jobs skills, which will prepare them for adulthood. The Green Teens Program offers an exciting 10-week core-training program that provides such opportunities with its focus on the following:
• Leadership Development: academics,
public speaking, presentation skills,
writing, civic involvement;
• Personal and Social Development:
confidence, teamwork, interpersonal
communication, conflict resolution;
• Preparedness for After High School:
job readiness, higher education,
planning and scheduling, personal
responsibility/accountability.
After
the core-training program, the Docents are given the
opportunity to implement what they have learned
within the plant collection.
It’s not too early to begin to think about becoming
involved in this fantastic program. For more
information on how you can get involved, contact
Seprina Redmond at (773) 638-1766 ext. 21 or email
