within this historic Chicago botanical conservatory.
Did you know that Chicago’s botanical gem
under glass, the Garfield Park Conservatory, has been home to
rare tropical plants for 100 years? (The Garfield Park
Conservatory opened to the public in April of 1908.)
Visit the Conservatory, one of the largest botanical
conservatories in the world and participate in a number of special events and activities!

community through the unique combination of the Garfield Park
Conservatory Campus, other botanical resources, and the
engagement of community members.
With its innovative programs,
the Alliance enhances the environmental, social and economic
vitality of Chicago’s West Side and encourages the larger
community to explore the fundamental connection between plants
and life. Membership in the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance supports
one of Chicago's great botanical resources.

E-Gala
June 1st - June 30th
Join us for a unique event this June
- the E-Gala! Instead of a traditional gala event, the
Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance will hold an
eco-friendly event entirely online. You can bid on
auction items such as a vintage bicycle, participate in
our drawing for $1500 cash, and sponsor flowers on the

Summer Under the Stars
Every Wednesday Evening in July
After months of being held captive by the cold, Chicago is coming alive as the warm summer air starts to flow through the city. In celebration of the season, Garfield Park Conservatory is hosting their Music and Dancing Under the Stars Series, continuing its legacy as one of the city’s most organically decorated and calming venues for a variety of cultural events. Every Wednesday during the month of July, Garfield Park Conservatory will invite music lovers to enjoy their evenings with friends and family as they dance the night away surrounded by the beauty of the outside gardens of the Bluestone Terrace.

Jazz Under the Stars
Friday, July 17th
July is time for our annual Jazz Under the Stars! Make sure to save the date for the 7th Annual Jazz Under the Stars on July 17th. The Bluestone Terrace will sizzle with music, dancing, friends, food and cocktails, all under a starry Chicago sky. Performing this year will be Westside’s acclaimed Howard Sandifer and Friends.

from the Sun Now Open

House, this ground-breaking immersion experience will
plunge visitors into the life of the Conservatory’s
tropical collection – from mangos and bananas to oranges
and papayas. Visitors will use all five senses as they
experience how a plant uses air, water and light to make
sugar -- the energy source not only for plants, but for
all life on earth.
